When the German forces retreated from the Baltic in 1919 they left
behind a number of aircraft and remains of aircraft. Among these was
an Albatros C.XV (original serial no. 7818/18), the fuselage of which was
described as being beyond repair.
Although a relatively modern aircraft for the time, its condition
must truly have been poor because the Latvians rebuilt many badly damaged
aircraft and flew them for many years thereafter.
