September 7, 1894 - Born, near Valmiera (Note: Kadets, in his obituary, lists Born on Sept.7, 1899 in Vilkenes pagasts).
1917 - graduated from the Tiflisa war college
June 3, 1919 - called into the Latvian army, participating in battles
as a member of the 6th Riga Infantry, and being promoted to Captain.
Nov. 4, 1919 - with great bravery captured a german machine gun
Nov. 22, 1919 - Distinguished himself in another battle against the
German forces (noted in his Lacplesa Order citation)
1921 - presented with the Lacplesis Order.
July 18, 1921 - demobilised from the Latvian army
Attended the University of Latvia, graduating in 1926 with a
degree in mechanical engineering.
Dec. 18, 1926 - Joined the Aviation Division with the rank of Lt.Colonel.
February 1927 - together with kapt. Munters they oversee the Air Division
Workshops as they prepared an SVA-10.
1934 - Argalis and Kandis travel to England to investigate what naval
aircraft might be suitable for Latvia's needs. The Fairey Seal was selected.
August 7, 1935 - completes his first solo flight (in a Udet Flamingo)
1936 - Commander of the Technical Branch
June 22, 1936 - qualified as an observer.
Oct. 13, 1936 - Argalis leads a delegation to Belgium to inspect and
accept 10 Stampe & Vertongen SV5 aircraft, and he was also a member of the board
which inspected them when they arrived in Latvia.
April 8, 1937 - Argalis is a member of the Aviation Division planning/budgeting
committee, established to set material requirements and budgets for the next two years.
May 5 - Inspects and accepts the de Havilland DH.89s in Hatfield, England.
June 7, 1939 - As part of the Aviation Regiment's 20th anniversary, he is awarded the Viesturs Order III Class (with swords).
At the time just before the Soviet occupation, Argalis was the
commander of the Technical Division of the Air Force.
1942 - Early in the German Occupation he was responsible for technical issues regarding automobile traffic in Latvia.
1943 (German occupation) Called into the Latvian Legion, 15th Division.
After the war, became a schoolteacher in Neustadt, West Germany
1951 - emigrates to Seattle, Washington.
March 7, 1980 - Dies, in Seattle.
