Graduated from Russian military college as an officer, assigned to the 430th Infantry
June 1917 - transferred to the Red 'strelnieki' reserve. Saw a great deal of action.
Awarded the Annas Order (IV class), Stanislav Order (III class).
February 10, 1919 - volunteers for the Latvian army, assigned to the Kalpaka battalion.
Promoted to commander of the 1st Leipajas Infantry. Took part in the fighting in Kurzeme.
January 6, 1920 - Distinguished himself in action on the Latgales front (Noted in the
Lacplesis Order citation)
1920 - awarded the Order of Lacplesis.
Commander of the 9th Madonas National Guard infantry.
1925-1931 - Member of the Latvian Parliament
1924 - founder and first chairman of the Riga Milk Producers Association.
August 21, 1936 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Riga/Spilve.
January 4, 1937 - named Commander of the National Air Guard. He was not a pilot himself,
so he delegated all leadership duties which required actual flying to his assistant, Capt. V. Dimza
and retained for himself the administrative functions.
July 10, 1938 - participates in the Aviation Festival at Kuldiga.
1939 - Chairman of the Board of "Degviela" corp.
October 14, 1940 (Soviet occupation) - arrested.
May 6, 1941 - death penalty pronounced.
June 22, 1941 - executed by the Soviets, near Baltezers. Another
report has him being shot dead in the basement of the Riga Central Prison.
