October 24, 1919 - distinguishes himself in battle against the Bermont forces.
During the fighting in Riga he took up a position at one end of a bridge and, with
a machine gun, held off the enemy when the troops assigned to that duty had retreated.
He was injured and gassed and, when reinforcements arrived, was carried from the
field in an unconcious state. (Noted in his Lacplesis Order citation)

1922 - Graduates from flight school (observer) with rank of Lieutenant.
1922, August 22 - makes his first solo flight.
1922 - Graduates, with the 3rd graduating class, as a qualified pilot.
October 11, 1923 - Member of the 1st Squadron.
1925 - promoted to the rank of Captain
July 25, 1925 - Named Commander of the 1st Fighter Squadron.
August 4, 1926 - involved in a fuel scam / fraud.
October 1, 1926 - released from military duty at his own request.
June 29, 1927 - tried and convicted re: the fuel affair. Sentenced to one month in jail (presumably his involvement in the matter was minor)
1926-1938 - journalist/editor for Latvijas Kareivjis
1939 - editor, Tevijas Sargs
Publisher of a number of books about military/political affairs.
Escaped to Germany, where he was editor of "Latvijas Balss"
1948 - emigrated to England
Author of "Ar Naidu Sirdi" (With Hate in my Heart)
