Serves with the Soviet air force. Assigned to the 45th Squadron, stationed in Niske, then Vilikije Luka. He is second in command
of the Supplies and Services section.
March 22, 1920 - defects to the Latvian side, flying the LVG P.1 He had been put in charge of refurbishing an LVG P1 which had made a forced landing
en route from Germany to Moscow on a secret, diplomatic mission. He encouraged the germans to continue their journey by land and,
on their return trip, they can collect their airplane which, in the meantime, he would repair. They repaired the aircraft where it had
come down and, when it was airworthy enough to be flown to an airfield, he and Oss instead flew it towards the Latvians, making a
forced landing in the wetlands southeast of Riga.
May 6, 1920 - completes the flight 'refresher' course and makes his first Latvian solo flight.
June 29, 1920 - assigned to the 3rd Squadron.
July 21, 1920 - Vizins is checked out on the Albatros C.III (#1145)
July 22, 1920 - makes a forced landing in the Daugava River.
November 24, 1920 - places an ad in Latvijas Kareivji magazine, inviting anyone interested to
join him in establishing Latvia's first aeroclub. A great many distinguished pioneers of Latvian aviation
expressed interest and the first Latvian Aeroclub was founded..
1939 - Vizins escapes to the west, settling in Sweden. As a deserter from the Red military, it was essential that he not
remain in Latvia if the Soviets occupied.
